Tyisha Mitchell

Tyisha Mitchell is an Indigenous screenwriter, actor, and media specialist, proudly belonging to the Colorado River Indian Tribes and Navajo Nation. Taking a free-spirited approach to life, she values the many experiences that set form to her creativity. In years past, she spent months fighting for clean water and energy at the Oceti Sakowin resistance camps in North Dakota, which was a defining moment in her life. Influenced by the blood that flows within her, she aspires to be of true service to her people—-artistically, as well as physically. She has pursued her education at institutions such as Arizona State University, the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA), and Santa Fe Community College, and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in American Indian Studies. Currently, she is studying Creative Writing with an emphasis in Screenwriting at IAIA.
